Here are a few examples of works I’m making using sand on panel in the studio.
This one is titled ”Succulent Conception”
You may commission your own by Pledging today on my Kickstarter Project
“Succulent Conception” 2011 Sand on Panel SOLD
I’m very excited to be creating permanent works again and putting them into good homes. The process starts by taking an image and drawing it onto a board of 1/2″ plywood. Then by using different squeeze bottles to adjust the thickness of the line, I apply a clear medium to the surface of the wood and sprinkle a single color onto the surface. After the medium has dried, I vacuum the remaining sand from the surface and then apply another layer of medium. The process repeats until the layers if color build up and after 50-100 layers the picture is complete.
Here is another painting titled “Anomalous Intertwined” which I completed back in the fall.
“Anomalous Intertwined” 2011 Sand On Panel SOLD
Each of these paintings is sold but in the winter months while the weather is cold I have plenty of work to do in the studio.
I’m starting several more of these paintings working on different ones throughout the day as each layer dries. Here are some of the paintings I’ve got in the works.
These photographs are being transformed into paintings for your wall, they are for sale. They are one of a kind so if you would like to purchase these are first come first serve basis only. I also take commissions so if you have another painting in mind that you would like me to produce from any image on my site, please contact me so we can discuss the details.
As always I do have prints available which can be found on my prints page as well as books.
Joe
